Steelheads Fall to Attack

Steelheads Suffer 2nd Pre-season Loss

The Mississauga Steelheads suffered their second pre-season loss after travelling to Owen Sound to take on the Attack on Saturday afternoon. The Attack wasted no time as they took an early 2-0 lead heading into the second period. After regrouping after the first period, Bobby MacIntyre earned himself a nice birthday present by scoring his first OHL goal to get the Steelheads back in the game. Shortly after, Trevor Carrick landed a point shot to even up the score at 2 apiece heading into the third.

The Attack answered back quickly, scoring 2 goals during Josh Burnside’s 5 minute major in the third period. The Steelheads were able to produce more goal, but an empty netter from Gemel Smith would ultimately lock in the win for the Attack. Tyson Teichmann stopped 32 of 36 shots.

The Steelheads will host the Attack in their second pre-season matchup, and final home exhibition game, on Tuesday September 11th at 7:00pm at Vic Johnston Arena. Tickets will be available on location prior to the game.
