Percy and DeMelo Named to Team OHL

Mississauga, ON – Steelheads Captain Stuart Percy and Alternate Captain Dylan DeMelo are amongst 32 other OHL players that will be a part of Team OHL at the upcoming Subway Super Series, as announced today by the Ontario Hockey League.

Team OHL will play games 3 and 4 of the CHL-wide series against the Russian National Junior Team, with game 3 in Guelph on November 8^th and game 4 in Sarnia on the 12^th. The Russians will also take on the QMJHL (Games 1 and 2) and the WHL (Games 5 and 6).

Dylan DeMelo is a San Jose Sharks prospect, drafted 179^th overall by the Sharks in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He currently has 9 points in 11 games this season with the Steelheads. The London native will play in Game 3 in Guelph, his first as a member of the OHL’s Super Series team.

Stuart Percy returns to Team OHL after playing in one of the two games in the 2011 series. This year, Stuart will dress for both of the games. The Toronto Maple Leafs first-round pick currently has five points through 11 games.

Team OHL has entrusted Stan Butler (Brampton), Mark Hunter (London) and Kevin Prendergast (Hockey Canada) with assembling a team to continue the OHL’s winning streak in this year’s series. Through the event’s ten-year history, the OHL is a perfect 18-0 against Team Russia. Other notables on this year’s team include Boone Jenner (Oshawa), Dougie Hamilton (Niagara), Ryan Strome (Niagara) and Cody Ceci (Ottawa).
