Mississauga Steelheads Sign 1st Round Pick Damian Bourne
Mississauga, ONT – The Mississauga Steelheads are proud to announce the signing of 1st round pick Damian Bourne. Bourne is a 6’4, 185 pound left winger from the 2012 OHL Cup Champions, the Mississauga Rebels. The Oakville, Ontario native was the Steelheads first pick and 11th overall in the 2012 Priority Selection Draft. Last season with the Rebels, Bourne recorded 79 points in 62 games and added 89 penalty minutes.
Steelheads Head Coach and GM, James Boyd likes what he sees in the Steelheads first-rounder. “Damian has all the skills to be a valuable contributor with our hockey club. He is a big mobile forward with a strong work ethic. We look forward to working with Damian this season.”
Joining the Steelheads has been an exciting process for Damian and he had this to say about joining the team: “I am very honoured and proud to be a part of the Steelheads team. I am excited for the upcoming season, and to be a part of the family here.”
The Steelheads would like to welcome Damian and the Bourne family to the Mississauga Steelheads organization.
